Velonica is an extreamly hardworking mother of three daughters and a son and has a smile that you can't forget. Her oldest daughter has begun school and her younger children come to the daycare that has been established at the bakery. Velonica loves to siing in her church choir and praises God for her new home, job at the bakery and for being taught to read and write by another widow. Before having a new home, she paid $3 per month for a small hut that was collapsing. After many years, her husband has reappeared after he was presumed dead. Although our program is designed to help widows, we continue our commitment to Velonica as we believe he is now abusive and a threat to her and their children. Both are currently in Christian counseling.
