Bake the Cycle
Bake the Cycle is a project that was born in March 2008 out of our alliance with World Relief Organization. The goal of this project is to build The Bread of Life Bakery, which will meet the needs of businesses and the local community with a variety of breads and will continue providing full-time employment for the women in our program. We are currently operating the bakery in a leased building with a solar oven. However, our goal is to build a permanent bakery that will be powered by biogas by working in cooperation with the National Domestic Biogas Program of Rwanda. We are excited about the possibilities of this green alternative for the bakery.
Our goal is to build a permanent facility to house both of the Bread of Life Bakery and Handspun Hope. This will cost approximately $60,000. With our facility funded, it is our prayer that both projects will become self-sustaining by 2015.
